FREMONT -- The school district's plans to redraw high school attendance boundaries have put a damper on the prices of expensive homes in southeastern Fremont.
Several real estate agents say prices in the Weibel Elementary School area have remained flat in recent years because of proposals to move that school from the Mission San Jose High School area into the Irvington High School area.
Many newcomers, intent on sending their kids to high-scoring Mission San Jose High lately don't even want to look at homes in the Weibel area, real estate agents say.
"Homes are taking longer to sell, and they haven't gone up as much as they have in other areas," said Steve Dhillon, an agent who specializes in high-end homes in the Weibel area.
